Gnarls Barkley Removes ‘Crazy’ From UK Charts

Gnarls BarkleyAfter nine weeks atop the UK radio charts, the Cee-Lo/Dangermouse collaboration of Gnarls Barkley have deleted their international hit sinlge Crazy from the UK charts, in an effort to focus attention on their next single Smiley Faces. The single has only reached number 38 on Billboard’s Hot 100 [US] chart in three weeks there. Currently topping that chart: Ridin’ from Houston rapper Chamillionaire…ugh.

In a press release, the duo said (as a singular Gnarls Barkley) “I consider myself a realist, I suppose that goes for most of us. But I have found a way to at once hold them, fold them, walk away and run. This was not a painless decision. But pain is nothing but a bi-product of beauty. Potentially toxic, to be sure, but that’s all it is.”

Smiley Faces drops as a single on July 17 in the UK, but will the tactic work for Gnarls?
