Friday Mixtape Volume 47
jamie on November 24th, 2006
Every week, I read posts from over 200 different sources- most of them are MP3/Music bloggers just like me. They are a never-ending source of great new bands and music. Without them, this blog would probably never have even been started. This week, I wanted to highlight some of these other blogs by putting together a mixtape soley of tracks posted on their respective blogs. So, below is the tracklisting for SFFMv47, with links to the posts from which each one comes from.
Thanks to everyone who reads this blog, and I wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving (those of you who celebrate this holiday - the rest have a great weekend)!
The cover photo this week comes from flickr user nicalibre, who's photo "Buy Less" is a reminder for Buy Nothing Day. Adbusters created the non-event to spotlight consumerism's effects around the world. Of course, they plan it for the biggest shopping days of the year (today in the US/Canada, tomorrow in the UK). Not that shopping is necessarily bad, but Adbusters hope to make people aware of the effects of shopping on the environment and the impoverished of the world. Maybe it's already too late for you today (you were at Wal Mart at 5 a.m., weren't you?), but try getting through tomorrow without buying anything at all- it's harder than it seems.
Download it HERE while you can!
