As I put together today’s mixtape, I realized that we’re already 6 weeks into the new year. Just over six weeks ago, we were doing the whole christma-kuh-wanza holiday and new year’s, and it was cold. Now, it’s warm out and there are tornados ripping across the south, and it’s almost like spring. Well, here in the southern states at least. Which reminds me- some of the year’s first festivals are just around the bend. Not big festivals, but rather the fun local variety. I’m talking about the Oysterfest- which used to be on Boling Way in Buckhead early in the springtime, when it was usually a bit cold and rainy, but who cares when there’s beer and oysters and band? Now that Boling is embroiled in the mass of construction going on in B’head, the festival has been moved to East Andrews… or has it? Park Tavern is having an Oysterfest as well. What’s going on? The old Steamboat Lounge has signed on the the East Andrews event, and Cowboy Mouth is due to play the Park Tavern event. Is the PT Oysterfest an imposter? Eh, I’m just rambling now. You’re not here for rambling on about local stuff (only 3% of SF visitors are from the greater Atlanta area), you’re probably reading this to see what’s on this week’s mixtape, so here ya go:
