Audio Download Trouble
Most of the audio clips linked on this blog are hosted on a server which does not have a very large allotment of bandwidth. Unfortunate, but that's life. Therefore, I have set it up so that it will ONLY serve files to requests coming from THIS blog. For this reason, a 'right-click, save as…' operation will not work, nor will the links included in the RSS feed. This restriction also applies to the mixtape files posted on weekends. I appologize for this inconvenience, but you have the asian mp3 search site called Baidu to thank for this- they generated so much traffic in direct downloads that I could not even retrieve email from the server.
Friday Mixtape
In most cases, mp3's will remain available on the post up to 14 days, with the exception of the SquirrelFood Friday Mixtape, which is posted sometime late Friday afternoon, and is only available until sometime Sunday evening (I'm talking Eastern times too).
Expired Link
I force an expiration of the audio files after 14 days. This is also related to bandwidth restrictions, and because I do not intend to provide an mp3 dowload service- I post audio files to promote music I feel worthy, not to pad iPods. If a link has expired, do not ask me to repost it, or send you the file directly. It won't happen.
Know Of A Great Band I Should Hear/Post?
I'll gladly listen to any band that a reader submits- just send me a link to their site/myspace where I can actually hear them. If I like it, I'll post it (and of course mention who turned me on to them).
