Lily AllenMark RonsonNew stuff from Mark Ronson's myspace today, including a remix of Lily Allen's Smile, putting his own Motown spin on it (no Dap Kings though). Also, the amazing instrunmental cover of Colplay's God Put A Smile Upon Your Face that will appear on his forthcoming release Version. Becks and Posh to Move To Los Angeles

Totally non-music content below:

Beckham moves to LADavid Beckham will move from Real Madrid to L.A. Galaxy!?!
Obviously, the move will add a very high-profile player to the roster of one of MLS' only good teams. Beckham is probably the best-known player to Americans. But, some might think the legendary player's career is at its end (even if he was playing on one leg, he'd probably still be better than half of all MLS players). In any case, Becks and wife Victoria (formerly Posh Spice) will be moving to Los Angeles, making for more good tabloid fodder.

Album Covers Gone Wrong

ok computer? master of PUPPIES?
The website b3ta posted a challege for Album Covers Gone Wrong recently, and some of the results (over 80 pages of them) are pretty funny. Being a geek, the OK Computer (above) got me laughing right away. via Neatorama.

Friday Mixtape Volume 101

Friday Mixtape Volume 101First mixtape of the new year- I'm calling it Volume 101 (second series, first week was the logic there). The cover image comes from flickr.com user laffy4k for it's noirish image of snow, which I miss a lot this year (it was 65 degrees outside today). I left everything in black and white, just 'cuz it felt like it should be. Anyway, this week should be the last week of having to use the primary hosting account for files- I've recently bought hosting space on squirrelfood.co.uk for future mixtapes and mp3s…yay!

It's been a short week with the holiday and all, and I've been swealtering in my new office that alwyas seems to be at least fifteen degrees warmer than the rest of the building, and since some asshole stole my phone last Friday, I've got a new Motorola Q to play with…what's all this about? Well, they ar emy exscuses for not really keeping up with music this week. I did, however, find time to clear out the old posts taht were sitting in my newsreader- posts on bands I didn't know, but didn't have time to listen to, so I just saved them. Thanks to these posts by various other music bloggers around the world, I have a mixtape this week. For each track on the list, I've included the link to the post from which it was found (except for that first track, which I liked better than the one Mark posted, but still found because of his post back in mid-December). Anyway, thanks to all the bloggers listed, and all the ones not listed as well, for their continuing contribution to my music discovery….

Download it HERE while you can!
