iGIF just posted about this new online conversion tool Zamzar, that I thought I'd share with you as well. As a general computer nerd, I get a lot of requests from friends and family to convert one kind of file to another (like a PNG image to a JPEG, or FLV video to MPEG, or a RAM file audio to MP3, etc.). I'm usually quite happy ot oblige- but now, everyone has access to this kind of service online via Zamzar.com.
Just upload your file, select the format you want it in, and Zamzar converts it and emails you a link to the hosted file. They convert a whole bunch of file formats- not just media files either. They will make PDF files outta just about any document! Give it a try- the service is free, and currently in beta stages.

Speaking of the previously mentioned Streets new album, you can check out a You Tube video of Mike endlessly rambling on about his latest work, listen to him cover Jimmy Hendrix and Razorlight- but more importantly: you can hear bits and pieces of the new Streets stuff throughout the 5 minute vid.

Mike Skinner might be busy in the studio working on a new album (I hear it's all instruments this time- taking a cue from the B-Boys?), but he's stopped to remixed The Twang's track Either Way with Doc Green. Take a listen to the Radio Rip from earlier today below.

See that collection of covers below? That's called filling the gap. It's been yet another really busy week for me, except on Wednesday, when I didn't even go near a computer while taking a vacation day for football. Which is just my way of excusing myself for not posting this week. Seriously, I'm a busy guy. Except for right now- I'm sitting in the bumper-to-bumper hell that is Atlanta Friday rush hour traffic. But that's where this little mixtape thing started: wth a 45 minute commute on Friday evenings, and a CD full of new shit to listen to while I curse at slow-moving truckers. So, if you like the mixtape, you have crappy traffic to thank! Anyway, blogging while driving is not a new extreme sport, and I'm not winning any awards doing it. So, enjoy the mixtape and the weekend!
The 57th mixtape cover is by great_sea on Flickr.com, and just seemed to fit with Atlanta weather feeling more and more like true summer. So, I hope it serves to inspire you- wherever you are- to take your shoes off this weekend and walk around in the grass barefoot…just watch out for dog poo.
Download it HERE while you can!
