Bravia Update: Stolen Rabbits?

Earlier today, I posted about the new Sony Bravia commercial, with all it's cute little plasticine bunnies- but now I find out that it may not be all that original. Apparently, the animation compnay, Passion Pictures, contacted the LA art duo Kozyndan about samples of their art, including the panaoramic image form the gizmodo.com article below. The Gizmodo Adwatch piece claims the duo, who frequently use rabbits or rabbit-fish chimera in their artwork, were ripped off by Passion Pictures. This may or may not be true, as the rabbits are fairly non-descript characters, and the interjection of people in the Bravia spot is purely by nature of the filming conditions. But it's interesting to note that Passion Pictures did request work samples from Kozyndan before filming started.

Jay-Z Previews His New American Gangster at Manhattan Studios

Jay-Z's American Gangster
Maybe the year's biggest hype-fest, Jay-Z's second return to recording was recently prematurely listened to by a handful of the New York media at Jay-Z's Roc The Mic Studios. The album was inspired by the upcoming Ridley Scott/Denzel Washington film of the same name. The movie chronicles the life of Frank Lucas during the 70's as he became one of the countries biggest drug dealers. Though as yet unfinished, the Def Jam and Roc-A-Fella head honcho lead reporters throught the tracklisting as they listened, giving history and motive to each track. I wasn't there (yeah, Jay-Z has me on speed dial, right?), but Eskay of Nah Right and several others already have their reports of the event online.

Sony Bravia

The newest Sony Bravia ad is out (it was out last week, but I missed it because I don't watch Ugly Betty)- this time with colorful clay rabbits taking over New York City's Thomas Paine Park, and features The Rolling Stones' She's A Rainbow. It's all kinds of stop-motion goodness, with over 100,000 still images coodinated over a three-week period.

There's a lot of great "Making of…" images on Flickr.
