So, I kinda ran short on time this week, and don’t really even know what I’ve put in here. I just went through my “new” folder, and picked out stuff that had nifty titles, or that I had any inkling that I had liked while listening throughout the week. Then, I tossed in some new stuff downloaded off the RSS feed. I know: lazy. DOwnload it anyway- I know you want to. I’ll be back with more later.
This week’s flickr-photo cover art is another last minute thing- I was going to use an image I’ve been working on this week, but haven’t yet finished. Instead, I’ve used an image with a somewhat similar theme to it by pl_jakub.
Sub Pop has announced the availablility of portions of their catalog as MP3 downloads. The always-ahead-of-the-curve label is currently offering downloads of full albums for just $9.90. The current bitrates are 192khz, but the site promises “…if we’re faced with an overwhelming demand for higher bitrate files, we’ll certainly do what we can to accommodate.” The coolest part: You purchase an album as an album, and if there are ever any additional tracks added to future re-releases, or better quality tracks available, they will automatically be included!
Not only that, but you can download the files you’ve purchased from your account page at any time and multiple times—if we update the download in any way (think bitrate or bonus tracks or whatever), you can just log in, go to your download page and get the new version of the file.
My name is Jamie, and I'm just trying to share my love of great new music. Files are for sampling purposes only, and intended only to promote music. If you are the copyright owner of a sound file and would like me to take it down, let me know and I'll gladly comply.
