Today is the day I’ve been waiting the past couple weeks for- the real taste of the new Streets album! It’s called The Escapist, and possibly the final track on the album? It’s all breezy and a bit unlike other Mike Skinner material, but I’m really diggin’ it so far.
Whew, what a busy week it’s been. I’ve barely had time to catch my breath. So, please forgive me if this week’s mixtape was thrown together a little recklessly. I can, however, guarantee that Plane Jane Automobile rock, having seen them last night. In other news, I got a mohawk and am totally stoked on playing in a football (soccer) tournament this weekend! Though I haven’t stepped out on a pitch in quite a while, I’m still looking forward to playing, and will be thoroughly exhausted by the time it’s all over. Enjoy SFFMv230, and as always: comments are welcome!
This video is awesome, but a bit disturbing at the same time. So, you’ve been warned…
“Well, maybe I can just keep it for a little while. Like, us it for small things. Like, i don’t know, when I have a really shitty day, or I need someone to talk to. Or, if I need someone to move something really heavy.”
Three tracks from Matthew Sweet’s new album, Sunshine Lies, are streaming from his website and myspace page. The album is due out August 26th, and marks his first solo album since 2004. The album was recorded, mixed and produced by Sweet at his studios in LA.
So, there’s a new look to SquirrelFood today. This change was not by choice though- the Wordpress update earlier this week broke my theme, and while trying to “hack” a workaround to some things, I broke it further. Now, I’m stuck with a half-assed theme that I’m not crazy about, but I’ll try to make work. Hopefully, I’ll find some time this weekend to either modfiy the these to my liking, or find one I do like. Either way, I hope all this rearrangement isn’t too comfusing. I know a lot of readers are reading via RSS anyway, and the theme is irrelevant. If anyone knows of a great theme that would suite SF, please let me know.
