Friday Mixtape Volume 236
Jamie Kohns on September 5th, 2008
What a week. Even though it’s been a day “shorter” than normal due to our Labor Day, it seems like last friday was ages ago. I’ve gotten little to no sleep all week, and my only requirement for the weekend is to finally get some good shut-eye. I haven’ tblogged much this week either, not because I was too busy or too tired (though, I was). Rather, because there just wasn’t all that much that peaked my interest. I know, there was surely something I could have blogged about, but I didn’t. My appoligies to anyone who really wanted to know that Kanye is possibly going to announce a new album at the VMA’s, or that Lily Allen got drunk at another awards ceremony.
I did, however, find some pretty kick-ass music for you all this week. Granted, I passed completely over the whole Metallica album leak thing, mostly because I want to stay off their radar for now. Otherwise, I’m really into Neil Halstead and William Fitzsimmons and The Break and Repair Method (thanks Mel). The latest from Jem is a bit more laid-back that I like. It lacks some of the energy and intesity that her previous album had, but I think Amazing is probably tops on that disc. There’s heaps more where that came from, so go ahead and download the mixtape, enjoy your weekend, and come back next Friday for more!
