Friday Mixtape Volume 244

Friday Mixtape Volume 244Happy Halloween! This is certainly one of my favorite holidays of the year, but my participation is always hit-or-miss. Some years, I get really into it- planning and building my costume for weeks before the big day. Other times (like this year, as I’m currently suffering from a cold), I leave the costume planning until too late, and either skip it or throw something together at the last minute. I might even recylce last year’s costume, if I’m feeling up to it.

Because the Friday Mixtape and Halloween fall on the same day this year, I’ve done a Halloween-themed mistape- all 13 tracks have something a bit ghoulish in their titles or band names. Some are obvious: Dawn Of The Dead, Vampire Weekend, and Frankenstein. Others are less obvious: Souled Out, Danse Macabre, Head Rolls Off, and The Spike. Enjoy the holiday and your themed mixtape. Next week, I’ll return with your regularly scheduled new music mix.

Boo! I know that scared you…
Happy Halloween everybody! Iwasn’t really planning on doing this, but I ended up with some time last night, and had this playlist running on my desktop anyway, so I thought I’d share. The mix isn’t all that spooky, but every track is aptly named. Also, I’m linking the tracks individually for the first time as an experiment. I’d recomment downloading the whole thing, cuz it’s just that good, but you can cherry-pick if you want. So, get downloading, then go steal some kid’s candy!

Paul Sapiano is the shutterbug behind the H2K7 cover art. I noticed this shot on flickr last week while searching for a SFFM image, and was part of the reason I decided to go ahead and do a Halloween 2007 mix. Thanks for the motivation, Paul!
